Domain
Name System (DNS) translates Domain Names (ex.www.google.com) to their
corresponding IP addresses (ex. 164.107.51.28). Every domain or server has a
unique ip address. It is not easy to remember those all ip addresses but domain
name are easily memorized by humans. That’s why the DNS invented. Domain Names
easily remembered by humans and DNS translates those names to corresponding IP
addresses
After typing url or
domain name www.google.com in the web browser, Domain Name
System translates the www.google.com to its
ip address ex. 164.107.51.28.
DNS implements a distributed database to store this name and
address information for all public hosts on the Internet. DNS assumes IP
addresses do not change (are statically assigned rather than dynamically
assigned).
