A combined competitive examination
is conducted by the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to
the Indian Engineering Services. The Examination constitutes of a written
examination followed by an interview for the personality test. The recruitment
of qualified candidates is made under the following categories:
· Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
· Electrical Engineering
· Mechanical Engineering
· Civil Engineering

Eligibility
Age Eligibility: You
need to be between 21 years to 30 years as on 1st January of the exam
year. Age relaxations exist as per the government rules.
Academic Qualification Eligibility: You must be a graduate in Engineering from a
recognized university. Final year students can also appear in IES exam.

Only
those candidates qualifying at Stage I are permitted to appear for Stage-II
examination. Similarly, only those Candidates qualifying at Stage-I + Stage-II
are permitted to appear for Stage-III examination.
