Plural Forms of Nouns

Generally the plural is formed by adding -s to the singular e.g. boy, boys-, chair, chairs. Errors committed while forming plurals should be avoided. The incorrect and correct plural forms of some nouns are shown below:

Uncountable Nouns

Nouns can he either countable or uncountable. A noun referring to an object that can be counted is a countable noun (e.g. table, tables). An uncountable noun cannot be counted(e.g. oil,. rice). Uncountable nouns do not have plural forms ending in -s. Such nouns have the same form for the singular and the plural. The words 'cattle', `sheep"deer', 'police',`information', 'advice', 'machinery', 'scenery', 'luggage',`clothing' music' etc. belong to this category.
